Writing a short story based on a scientific article

Subject :

The discovery of exoplanets stimulates both science and the imagination. Using just a few pieces of data, writers invent worlds, transform facts into stories, and hypotheses into sensations. Now it’s your turn to discover an exoplanet and write a work of science fiction. Your goal? To make the reader feel this invisible world: using descriptions, sensations and emotions, bring scientific findings to life and help the reader see what cannot be seen, imagine what might exist elsewhere.

Level : High school

Objectives :

  • Read and understand a popular science article in order to extract useful information.
  • Construct a coherent fictional universe based on scientific data.
  • Write a structured and evocative text, combining description and narration.
  • Use literary techniques to convey an invisible world.
  • Present a text orally, justifying the narrative choices.
