Transit Timing Variations (TTV)

When a planet is detected by transit, the transit times are very regular, except if disturbed by the presence of an additional planet in the system. Modelling the system makes it possible to calculate the orbital properties of the additional planet.

The transit oscillations of planet Kepler-46 b indicate the presence of another planet, Kepler-46 c in the system.
